Wider Green Line network
There is almost a £1 benefit for every 4km cycled with over 8m trips a day in London that could be cycled all the way. Crossride aims to create a safe dedicated cycle and pedestrian route across the length of London, the Green Line, linking both key locations and green spaces. A strategic framework of improvements to canal tow paths and green routes are paired with specific interventions at a local level within Stratford to create an uninterrupted route that can accommodate regular cycle use and pedestrian access. The project suggests that physical improvements be paired with a dedicated campaign to encourage cycle use among those who would otherwise travel via alternative means.
